Gfx card connectors

Quick Q guys, I'm close to buying a new card but noticed it needs an 8 pin power connector. Having checked in my case my current cards using a 6 pin & I can only see 6 & 2 pin connectors, no 8 pin.

So do I need a converter, a new psu or just use a 6 & 2 pin connector to make the 8? My psu is 500w which I believe is fine for a 1060.
