I never had any problems with my 8800gt heating up i could play cod4/crysis for hours and hours with it being fine, but recently my card is overheating and making a noise after like 20mins of playing :/ i took it out last night and cleaned it out of dust ect but it changed nothing. any other reasons it can be doing this?

silly question but did u take the face plate off the cooler to clean it, just an idea in case the heatsinks under it are dusted up.

maybe look at reseating the heatsink after cleaning the processor up and putting some new thermal paste on.

8800gt's can run fine at about 100c so you dont need to be worring about it.
If you really want to then you can get an artic cooling accelero v1 rev2 for 15 quid and a fan for a bout a fiver

Increase your airflow/case cooling to compensate for the Natural rise in Ambient temps your system is feeding off, It is Summer after all.
