Hi all,

i am loking into buying this tv, 40" J6300 6 Series Curved Full HD Smart LED TV

http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/televisions/hd-tvs/UE40J6300AKXXU

currently i use a 32" TV for my monitor as i live with 'rents still and i lack space to have a monitor and a tv.

my current tv is showing its age, and has pixelation causing annoyance when watching tv/playing games.

I currently use a GTX560Ti

would this GFX run my tv @ 1920x1080? or would it cause overheat/BSOD?

nah, my current tv is set to 1368x768 (old school HD)
i have ran it @ 1920x1080 but it makes the desktop massive with small icons
i do run bf4 @ 1080 also and never had any issues

my partner wants to get a 4k TV (being Black Friday and all, can get a 40" 4k TV for £400.. but i dont see the purpose of 4k, when i wouldnt use it.

Any particular reason to want 4k?

If you wont play games at 4k, what 4k content would you watch on the TV?

The resolution of the TV will determine how big your icons and desktop are relative to the size of the thing. If you find the icons are too small at 1080p+ you can always increase their size in settings though.
