GFX Card Noise

Hi,

I have just got one of the Gigabyte 260 GTX Cards and when ever I play a game the card squeals when its under load. Is this normal for these types of cards??

Yeah its normal, its just the capacitors, some cards do it, some don't, its just pot luck as to wether you get a one that doesn't.

Bad luck mate. My card doesnt squeal, but it does run ridiculously hot... can't have everything

I've never heard of capacitor squeal.

I've never had a graphics card that did it - I googled it as I was curious.

Hi,

Its better when V Sync is enabled in Nvidia and games its not as loud and cant really be heard that much.

A common problem with various models of graphics cards from various manufacturers. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it.

Hi,

I think its not classed as a fault, it seems that some cards do this and others don't. At least everything is working OK.

My 8800 GTX does the same when folding or playing certain games.
