GFX Card on old C2D spec for Minecraft.

My current spec is outdated now:

E6750 2.66Ghz
4GB DDR2
8800GTS 768MB.

Struggle to get Minecraft running decently, what cheap GFX card can I throw in to help performance? Don't mind going 2nd hand, got to be careful that my CPU doesn't bottleneck though.

Perhaps a used 5750, 6770 but that's just a stab in the dark I'm sure it'd run it lovely however you might be able to get a cheaper solution.

Minecraft is a CPU hog any old card can run it, but you need a good
CPU & SSD to run it smooth. But other games will benefit from an upgrade to a newer card.

Minecraft EATS VRAM for breakfast if you use decent texture packs though
