GFX Card Problem

Currently my GFX card is a Gainward 6800GT 256MB, however recently the fan has been humming louder and causing irregular noises. So instead of the normal fan noise you can hear it speeding slowing down like something is resisting against it. It only has happened a few times but recently does it more. It’s not any other fan as I can also clear see one of the GFX fans slightly shaking when the problem happens. So I took the GFX card out and tried to fix it. Managed to take the out plate off, but the fan is a single unit so hard to fix or replace.

My question is also, if you think there is no hope what GFX card do you recommend? At the moment I do not want a massive upgrade, so any AGP card which is as good as my current one will do for the time being. Really I just need something to keep the computer going till I upgrade in the New Year when quad cores and vista are released. Is it worth getting a new one? I mean the only reason I did post this today as it seemed the fan was making a lot more noise and could have sworn it was scraping the metal of the card. At the moment its ok, but that could change.

Seen some nice ones on OCUK, so if you can give more some of your opinions it would be appreciated; only looking at a card around £180-£230.

Current card is as I said a 256mb, Nvidia 6800GT Core Clock 350mhz / Memory Clock 1000mhz. So equal or more than this is what I want.

Many thanks,
