GFX card recommendation for Shuttle XPC SS30G2

Hi,

I'm building a barebones system based on the Shuttle XPC SS30G2 but I ran into a problem at the last step.

I didn't realise how tight it was for graphics card space and the original one I ordered had a huge heat sink on the back so it wouldn't fit by a mile!

Can anyone recommend a cheap card that will fit this system? It'll have to be pretty much the width of the PCI slot (with maybe a half inch more if needed).

I already have a soundcard in there (Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1) and the gfx card doesn't have to be anything special. It will be a system purely for internet access and a little bit of word/powerpoint stuff and getting photos off cameras. No gaming.

Something around the £50 mark +/- a tenner should do.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the X1650XT would fit in there, and it's a good card for the money too - slightly faster than an X850XT PE. :)

hi,

reckon you should be ok for an ati 2400 or 2600 newer cards and they should fit ok.
only problem is that they run extremely hot so being a shuttle wont help plus they are pretty pants

though anything else will cost more, 2600XT is best bet, providing they fit

Cheers guys.
I found a review of the X1650XT and that looks nicely slim enough to fit. The fan on the front should blow straight out through the side vents in the case too so I'll be ordering tonight I think.

Much appreciated.
