Gfx card testing tools

Are there any tools to give my gfx card a good run to see if it is faulty?
i tred 3d mark 05 and 06 and it runs them fine, but need one to push the card for a good few hrs.

I have checked my ram, and ran Prime 95 overnight to test the CPU and Ram so leaves OS, Drivers and Gfx Card (x1900xt), so i would like to eliminate the hardware first in case i need to return any as faulty to OcUK.

how long am i spose to run it?
i ran the test till my GPU was at 81oC and pressed abort
no errors showed
i used the defaults the tool provides (500 core, 600 memory)

When i pressed "search for Artifacts"
after 6 mins the core temp reached 85oC
thats when i hit abort

The thing i dont understand is that according to the Ati tool the fan didnt go above 36% usage, and this is only at 500 mhz core 600 mhz memory, well below the spec of the card.

Have i got a dodgey card? or am i doing something wrong :S

you have to keep it running longer than 5 mins, 5 mins wont test much, and those temps do seem a little high to me but ive never used a 1900xtx

thing is it reached 85oC and was still rising, is it safe to take it above that without damaging the card :S
ok went a bit further till the card reached 88oC on 30 mins test
here it is at 23 mins (i lost the 30 misn screenie ><)

Thats really high - anyone else got a x1900xt and can confirm this is high? You might want to try reseeding the heatsink with a bit of AS5.

i made another thread to see temps, they didnt go over 65oC so i think i will send the card back as faulty,
would rather get a new one than void the warranty by removing things like the heatsink

Funny how nobody has asked you want case you have to give us an idea on the cooling capabilities. Chances are it is down to limited airflow.

Dont see how , the HIS excaliber vents the air out the back itself,
but even so i have a

all the cables are tied at the back/cable tied to the front of the case so there is nothing other than the bear essentials running in the area around the cpu or gfx card.

I have 1 fan blowing in from the side panel just above the ati card, and one sucking air out just above the cpu (altho i turn the side one off usually when im not testing the rig as the fan is on its way out so makes a lot of noise)
Unfortunately the side panel one is a tad too high or it would have been in the perfect position to blow cold air just above the card so that it is sucking in cold air all the time

I also have a fan blowing air out of the front over the hdd's
