I currently have a 6800 Ultra PCIe and am looking to upgrade.
I dont have a budget and have been thinking of putting it off until the G80/R600.

Is it worth waiting or just get something with more kick i.e. 7900/7950

***note***
I do prefer Nvidia to Ati (Since the 6 series Nvidia have had the edge but thats another debate)

Any ideas people???

Does your graphics card handle any games that you currently want it to? If the answer is yes then no need to upgrade immediately, if the answer is no then you have to ask yourself how important it is to upgrade just now.

Preferring Nvidia is fair enough and both make good cards but to say that it has had the edge since the 6X00series is pushing it a little as the X800series were on a par apart from not having SM3. The X1800series more or less took ATI back to the forefront and the X1900series cemented that place in the eyes of most people, again like I say both make good cards but I'd definitely question that Nvidia are the leaders. :)

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, the cards a real power horse but lately pushing the res, AA and AF slows games down.

I supose waiting for the G80's a good move and it cant be that far away.

I also have another problem, i have a single core 3800 64bit and it runs at 55degrees under load at times is that right???

I have 3 80mm fans, 2 intake and 1 Exhaust, i used Arctic silver thermal paste between the HS and CPU (the CPU is unclocked) and the HS/Fan has been cleared of Dust etc...

Any Ideas.
