i currently run 2 4870 in crossfire im not too bothered about dx11 but would like to go back to a single card plus upgrade at the same time for performance not dx11,

What card would u recomend ? pref ati

If your upgrading the it had to be a GTX 295 or above, you do realise, CF 4870 ranks very very high.

Equalling a 5870 for benchmarking.

by the sounds of that then it aint really worth me upgrading unless i want dx11 yet.

Well less power draw, DX11 etc.

The CF 4870's are marginally worse than the 5870, that in mind the scaling over games might sway you.

Not all games are equal in scaling across CF, a single card solution that performs equal if not more is always more desirable.

Im only saying benchmarking but in real situations a single card is better.
I would stick with CF 4870's right now that being said the smart player would sell both cards while the price is hot (ish) and hit up a cheapo replacement for the mean time saving the cash and looking to CF a set of 5850s after the inevitable price drop that the 6 series will bring..

Yes, price drops from shops and people wanting to sell their cards will happen soon, maybe a 5870 would be a great single card for you.
