Does putting a waterblock on the Card void warranty ?
im thinking there is an issue with my 5970 and not sure if it voids warranty or not ?

If your talking manufacturers/suppliers Warranty then Usually YES but depends on manufacturers/suppliers warranty terms.

To be sure check your warranty and/or raise query with customer services of manufacturer/supplier.

If your looking at statutory protection .... different ? entirely . Would suggest that you read up a bit (sorry I meant a LOT - it's a big area!! partic. when it comes to such ?'s).

As far as I'm aware only Zotac and EVGA allow you to remove and replace the stock cooler for warranty purposes.

Thanks for this, was gonna remove the stock cooler on my xfx gtx 280 xt, its been artifacting at 70c and i was considering taking it apart to redo the thermal paste on the gpu. May just leave it as is and rma it.

As Zotac are the NVidia arm of Sapphire, their warranty could also allow removal of the stock HSF, but you'd need to check.

I had a MSi N9800GX2 that died on me a couple of months ago. It carries a two year warranty and it was about 15 months old when it went. I took it back to the retailer who in turn tested it and agreed that it was faulty so they then returned it to MSI U.K.

I have been waiting 2 months now and heard nothing from the retailer who fail to contact me each time i ask them to find out the status of the warranty with MSI.

Although i realise that the warranty issue is now in the hands of MSI i feel that the retailer is failing somewhat in the customer relations department by not contacting me with any updates as i have requested.

I wonder what will happen as regards to a replacement as the 9800GX2 is no longer made.

I hope i get a refund as i will get the Nvidia 3D Vision hardware.
