Its been a few years since I dabbled in building my own and upgrading and the like (I shall pay my penance later :) ) but I need to get a bit more out of my current setup and my current card is having some probs.

Can someone help me confirm that this...

Is compatible with my ASUS P5Q, I am looking to upgrade from an HD 4870.

EDIT : Just double checked - mobo is 2.0 this is 3.0 any other suggestions for an upgrade?

Thanks!

3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0.

What resolution do you run, and what cpu do you have?

Max budget?

The card you linked above is a very good option. As you're replacing your rig, I think if I was you I would probably only be looking at something like that, or maybe even just a 7750. One of these will perform slightly better than your 4870, save you a few extra quid and keep you ticking over until you fully upgrade. Either the 7750 or 7770 are a good option. Just make sure that you get a GDDR5 version if you do opt for the 7750.
