Are there any reviews about charting the progress of GFX card drivers that show just how much performance can be gained from the evolution of a cards drivers?

I have seen a lot of people say many times that performance for any given card will increase with driver updates. I have never seen more than a few FPS gain myself where reviews have only compared the latest against the last. I'd like to see a comparison spanning 6 to 12 months for instance.
 
Erm I read about my HD5770 in CPC that when it came out about 2 years ago the performance has boosted by 37% thanks to drivers on stock settings!

Drivers will make the card slightly faster over time, but not for at least 6 months.

You will see an extra few frames with the latest games mind!
