Obviously i dont need a 2900xt or a 8800 Ultra but play the odd game of BF2 and play a lot of HD files.

Suggestions in the 100 -150 area please.

The HD files are played at a different res closer to 1600 x 900

X1950Pro would be the best choice or an 8800GTS 320Mb :).

You proberbly could find an X1950Pro for udner £100 aswell.

That for 117 would be good enough, nice overclocker too.

Think that means it can, my 7600GT was HDCP compliant and managed it so the x19** range should be better or not?

Well I'm sure an X1950 will deffenitly be better :)

would advise you get the fastest card you can currently afford. even a 2900 or gtx is not enough for 1024x768 in some games with all details at max.
if you want some examples of game please do reply, but im sure by now the majority of forum users know what games im on about.

He speaks truth, there are some games that wont run @ 1024 maxed on a 1950...

TBH it never bothered me.I played CS from a Beta in 1999 and my viewpoint was that if you had time to look at the pretty textures you were dead and crap :D

What games bring a 2900 or GTX to its knees at 1024x768?

Thanks i will let you know how i get on. Running the higher res for HD files wont cause it to slow to a crawl will it?
