Hi,

I'm looking at a gaming laptop for when I'm round the missus' as I already have a decent desktop gaming machine.

Looking at GPUs at first is there much difference between these

660M vs 675M vs 7970M

Games I'm mainly looking at are the upcoming MMOs like FF14 and TESO and maybe a little GW2.

Are you sure the missus' will like the idea of you turning up with your laptop and gaming when you should be spending time with her ?

In any case, I have also been looking at gaming laptops.

I think in terms of value for money, the 7970M is currently the gamer's preferred card as it flies through the benchmarks compared to the Nvidia cards you listed and is close in price.

Also, the 660M, is probably at the high end of the standard discrete cards whereas the 675M is more of a gamer's graphics card with higher performance.

If you can stretch to a 670MX or 675MX, you would get the newer Kepler architecture but for gaming, I think the 7970 would be the better choice

Yeah, the 7970m seems to come out on top in most reviews I've read when comparing the 675m.

I suppose the 680m is better again but it's a bit out of my price budget. I hope the 7970m will have no problems with ESO and FF14

7970M for sure. 680M if you're feeling indulgent, but many will say you don't get a justifiable amount of bang for the extra bucks.

I have a 7970M myself, very very happy with it, was a nice step up from the 5870M!
