I'm having problems with my new build, well it's about 3-4 weeks old now.
I started getting hangs in windows explorer last week, where the bottom toolbar would freeze, though if i had mozilla open, that would continue to work. Today i decided that i should reinstall vista, so i did, i've had all manner of problems in doing so, monitor wouldn't come out of standby, my IDE drive disappeared from bios and vista but my 3 sata drives were there, monitor wouldn't come out of standby, then i got an error when booting up after a successful vista install saying insert boot disk or bootable disk drive or something along those lines, then i got the monitor wouldn't come out of standby again, then i finally started getting red lines on screen at boot up which makes me think gfx card, but why would that affect the other problems.
I did get vista installed with drivers etc, but then when it rebooted after a couple of times i got the problems again, it just wouldn't start.
I've put my old 7600GT back in to test and i've managed to reinstall vista again but i've not rebooted or installed any drivers yet (except LAN). So it could still be a mobo problem.
MOBO is Asus P5Q Pro and GFX is Asus HD4850. Is there any way i can single one out for the problem?
