gfx or psu ???

my computer freezes sometimes while i play games, its fine doing video and photo editing etc.
it didnt freeze as much a while ago but now its starting to annoy me.
i think its my psu not giving enough juice to the card, if i unlock the fps in games so i can get the fps to the maximum value as possible it freeze.

Looks like its artefacting, what brand PSU do you have and what wattage.

well it doesn't artifact, it just freeze like a crash but just doesn't shut down or blue screen,
i know the card isn't overheating as the temps stay close to 50c, i donno if the card is just showing its age or what.
it did it when i bought it new, but didnt bother me much, but now it doing a lot more.
the psu is a OCZ 550watt

im gonna borrow my bro-in-laws 8600gts see if it is the graphics card that is making the problem.

I think the temp is only taken from the main chip on the card but other chips can get hot aswell, dust can really mess a card up by not allowing air to flow to the rest of the card.

its was the 7950gt giving me problems, since having this 8600 in the pc and O.C'ed my 4800 to 3ghz which i could'nt get before, i got an extra 2000 points on 3dmark
