GFX probs ( x800xtpe )

i am having some probs with my gfx
I'm getting random gfx lock ups and have to restart the pc regularly
i have also been getting a blue screen with error ati2dvag
when the pc is restarted it puts the colour quality down to 16bit
when at 16 bit i don't have any blue screens but get red snow flakes
when i minimise the game from time to time
i have tried a few different drivers and used driver cleaner to uninstall them
and still no joy

any ideas ? possible card faulty ?

Possibly. But I mean, is the card looking quite clean, or is the cooler clogged. Might just be that causing the problems.

Last week my X800XTPE was doing things like making computer reset, artifacts, all sorts of awfull stuff, so what I did was took the cooler off, cleaned all the thermal paste off, got a hoover, cleaned the fan on the cooler, put some new thermal paste on, and it sorted out all the problems , I reccommend you try the same.
