When they refer to the minimum amps on the +12v for instance.
'Minimum of a 600 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 42 Amps.)'

Is this the total combined thoughout all +12v rails.

I have an Enermax Infiniti 720W with 3 x +12V rails combined at 56A

Is this capable of a GTX580
 
If you split it correctly so that your gfx card is on one rail, CPU on another etc, then it will be fne.

the minimum 600 watt recommendation is for a whole system
