these 2 cards seem very alike but which one would you guys say is the better??
 
im not too sure really... i think the 7600 card performs better than the X1600... google it (7600GT vs X1600XT) look for performance chart/reviews etc.

I'd go for the 7600gt, there is little difference in the specifications, both appear to use a 128bit memory bus which isn't so good but I think the 7600gt is a bit faster and most seem to overclock fairly well.
 
Agreed, 7600 GT is around 6800 Ultra performance, the x1600 XT is on par with a 6600 GT, or slightly better so no contest really, 7600 GT for the win!!!. :)
