what setting should i set my gfx options at with this monitor? (1605 x 1025)

i've got most on high and it stutters sometimes, not sure what it is? which of the options makes the most diference?

cheers

If you only have 1gig of RAM and a 256meg video card, setting textures to high will likely cause some stuttering

I have sigs disabled :)

As you are using high resolution, setting AA to an excessively high level could also slow things down.

Failing that things like shadows and lighting usually carry a hefty performance hit.

Shuttle SN85G4 V1, Athlon 64 3200+
2gb Geil value, x800pro
X-fi, 250d Megaworks
Dell 2005fpw

that help?

aa on zero, was after which ones to turn down to increase performance but make it look similar

You should be fine with everything on High @ 1600x1200 with AA & AF. :) - I have a friend with a similar rig and everys fine for him @ said settings.

Alas, I only have 1GB :o :(

As mentioned look at shadows - these give a huge performance hit and turning these down can give a large boost in performance without too much of a drop in image quality

You could also look at the texture quality

I'm wondering if he has different issue, as I'd have thought everything maxxed, on that rig, would be ok, as my mates rig seems to be???

thanks for the tips guys, will try them out tonight, can't run this maxed out unfortunatly, think it's the res. might be reverting back to a 1280 x 1024 monitor anyway....

i think my shuttle may have issues atm....

might be time for an upgrade.

I don't think an X800Pro is going to be able to run everything maxed out to be fair, I have an X800XL with most things on med and a couple on high with no AA or AF and it can still drop to 30fps, with an Opteron @ 2.7Ghz. I personally like it at 40fps or above though.
