Morning guys, wonder if i can pick your brain for a tick.

Bought a PNY 9600gt about a month ago just to bump up the gfx qualities of the games im playing, and here and now, when i stick my computer on standby, it sounds like the gfx fan goes to full and doesnt seem to stop....soon as i log back in, it returns to normal.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

It would mean it's not your graphics card.

Lots of bios's spin fans up full when they reset, maybe yours, on standby gets "stuck" at this "loosening up the fans" point.

When I ran 4870's in crossfire I had a similar issue. When the PC was on standby each card seemed to take turns at spinning up to 100% then stopping every few minutes.

I rarely used standby so it didn't bother me but after clearing out and reinstalling drivers the issue went away.

as i said earlier, ive updated the nvidia drivers and it still spins up constant on standby, so its not the gpu fan but the cpu cooler, bios problem?
