Gfx upgrade or cpu uprgade...

Hello, not sure if I should post this in the cpu or the gfx section, so here goes..
Have myself a Shuttle SN21G5, Athlon3500venice, Pcolor X800GT, 1gb ram(single)
Out of the following 2, what would give me the most improvement in terms of playing games and watching hd video:
changing the cpu to athlon 4000 single core
or
changing the gfx card to a X1950pro/7900gt

Help and advice much appreciated.

id grab another (cheap) stick of ram, and something like a 7900GS, or X1950pro or similar for the biggest boost!

if your using a shuttle case see if you can get a faster cpu from member market. there are loads of opterons there like mine which can be undervolted to generate less heat.

mine does 2.7ghz at 1.275v and load temps are silly low. well thanks to the big typhoon for me the load temps don;t even exceed 41c running at 2.9ghz with 1.375v. shocking.
cpus like mine can be had real cheapo like 40-50 quid. and you can sell yours on for around 25 quid to get some cash back.

next step would be faster gfx card and more ram. go to 1.5gb of ram and you should be good to go.

You have to wait about 24hrs for a Don to set it up.

If its all set up then the MM should just show up, but its closed for now, so they may not be activating ppl for it until they re-open it again, id e-mail a Don to find out, as you shoud have been activated long before now.

Maybe it has something to do with the random mutual trust you and allllec gave each other
