GH2 Guitar Probs

Had a wee break from GH2 to play Lego Star Wars for 40 hours or so but finally 100%'d it so I am now back on GH2.

However I appear to have become rather naff not even being able to hold a 2X combo on easy...Until I did some experimenting!

It turns out that my strum bar when strummed downwards likes to randomly add in an extra 2 or 3 strums from time to time causing combos to drop & long notes to get cut short.

Playing the guitar only strumming up 'fixes' this issue but is hardly ideal

Anyone suffered from this before & have any info on a fix? Or should I just attempt to get the guitar swapped?

Any help appreciated

are you pressing the bar or strumming it like a guitar? because if you strum it then that will happen. If not then yeah sounds faulty.

even just pressing it with my thumb & holding it so it can't pop back up

Strumming upwards takes a lot of concentration

Just popped a long to the retailers site & clicked around in my order history which directed me to a page with the following:

I know where you're talking about. It's quite cheeky of them.

Taken your guitar apart? I have as I sprayed mine black. It's just 2 switches... so I can't see why it would be registering as extra strums. Tried a new profile on it just to make sure it's not a game save?

Yup pulled it apart earlier

the problem eased for a bit and then returned slowly of the course of the afternoon.

Still somehow bodged my way through Madhouse on Hard though

Good idea about the corrupt save....give it a go tomorrow. Does happen in Free Play as well though

Madhouse is wizz easy. But then I have complete GH2 on expert... sooo....

On another forum we had a Gh2 leaderboard thread. Maybe we should have one here for GH3

yep that would be awesome. Have you done Jordan though? only song i can't do on expert :mad:

Getting there lol. Think I get 57% on that. I stopped using the strum bar and started using the d-pad for that one.

Still does it and even just in the dashboard as well

Earlier post about the SoGA - anyone got any thoughts?

maybe you play like i do and only strum downwards very forcefully. Mine will break any day now....

UK Support for GH2 responded by email informing me:

I'm afraid that we do not support Guitar Hero 2, please contact
Activision on + 44 (0)870 241 2148 for further assistance.

Hmm annoying as it's taken them 2 days to replay. Maybe out of date contact details on Red Octanes website.

Off we go to Activison! There website beings me to this answer which in turn links right back to the Red Octane US support site. Amazingly enough I follow the obvious link for support in the UK and get:
