Seems like there are some problems with the new controller, anyone here have the game already? are you controllers ok?
Was going to import the game but may wait now and hope they fix them before release over here.

Hope link is ok fairly sure they are not a competitor.

This was mentioned in another thread somewhere but it's a joke. There were problems with the guitars for GH2 and now problems with the new guitar for GH3. Who the hell is running their quality department?

People are talking about having to wedge credit cards and such into the gap between the neck and base to make a decent connection and get it working properly.
If thats the case, then that really is poor

You might be lucky m8, the Wii seems to be the only one without any problems.
Have a read on the forum I put the link for, good info there.

ah, what i experienced at VGL last week is actually a common problem then?? this is really gonna suck :(

The one i used did feel quite sturdy, didn't even know the neck detatched until the guy pulled it off lol and i was giving it some with the wammy bar :) but i only got the combo buttons problem, everything else seemed to be ok.

Got talking with a few other guys there and found out the other guitar on the second setup couldnt do star power, everytime he lifted the guitar nothing happened even though the bar was full??

:(

I don't understand why they decided to make the controller in two parts really.

Apparently the box it comes in is the same size as the GHI and GHII boxes, there really was no need for it

anyone have any more info on this? - its so hard to tell how many folks are just enjoying and not having problems. Its released on friday, and I've been psyched about it for some time - but after reading around I've cancelled my pre-order.

Maybe one to pickup in-store so if the guitar does die you can return it easily.

Spent a fair bit of the weekend reading about the controller for GH3 and heard/read the same reports as been mentioned.

Apparently the 'tilt' is rubbish on the new version and the frets just not responsive enough - although in fairness they have said that GHIII does make less use of hammering.

The major soft off for me was the lack of a decent charging kit. I just fail to understand why they couldn't have incorportated a plug and charge slot or a slot to insert a fully charged controller battery.

Going to be local highstreet store on Friday and will be picking up the game ONLY.

hmmm, i'm tempted to pick up the copy of GH II as saw in a local supermarket for £50 now, and then get GH3 disk only :(

Really want to get started though, borrowed a mates GH II and played with the pad, so am very cautious about spending £60 on defective hardware! :(

yeah looks like the GH2 explorer might end up going at a premium
damn & I was looking forward to wireless, reckless rock n roll all weekend!

Me too, that's exactly what I was hoping for.

There's only so much Angus Young walking you can do with a wired guitar :(

I can't work out what's happening here - a lot of the comments about the guitar problems seemed to have trailed off recently - see kotaku for example... does that mean its fixed / ironed out. There are hundreds of comments relating to problems but GHIII made $100million in its first week in the states so surely ~100's is relatively low percentage-wise...

would just really prefer to not buy it online and then have to send it back for x number of replacements - really can't decide whether to preorder or not - decisions, decisions - i wish activision would make some kind of statement :(

oh well at least there's mass effect to look forward to :)

I have it pre-ordered, I am hoping for the best, but it's like you said millions of copies been sold, compare that to number of complaints and it doesn't look so bad :)

According to one of my US friends, the US version of GH3 comes with the old Explorer wired guitar, but with some different stickers for it lol. to get the wireless one they gotta pay more

Dont know whether this is true all over the US or not?? but certainly true for a few places in Kansas

Nooo! Do i cancel my pre-order.. me and my mate are amped about getting our controllers.. geddit? amped!
