GH3 on the PS3 - Any Good?

Hey guys

I'm toying with the idea of getting GH3 with the wireless Les Paul, but I've had a look online and there seems to be a LOT of issues with the wireless guitar dropping connection, pretty much destroying your score in the meantime.

Has anyone else had this problem. I would be interested in hearing all your thoughts, both good and bad on the game, to help me make my mind up.

Thanks

Not really sure, but I'll point you in the direction of the Gamespot review if you can't make your mind up

Whappers.

Some problems were mentioned about the wireless guitar, but most people sorted this by simply doing a re-calibration in the options.

My friend experienced this when he first got it, and as said. He just needed to spend some time in the options

Picked my copy up Friday night and been playing it all weekend.

I've had no problems in using the wireless guitar, every button press, good or otherwise has been picked up :p

It was a little frustrating connecting it to the PS3 but that was because I didn't read the instructions!!!

Can you give us an inkling on how it connects to the PS3 then? I'm curious as to why they've not used the console's Bluetooth functionality.

It connects via wireless. Its basically a USB wireless receiver dongle that you plug in and connect to.

You hit the button on the dongle, hit the one on the guitar and it syncs.

I've no idea why they have not used the Bluetooth functionality, maybe it is to keep manufacturing costs down as I presume this is the same way as it is done on the Wii, xbox and PS2?

It was because they was worried about other things interfering with the Bluetooth reception, theres been cases where the Sixaxis has stopped working for a fraction of a second. In a game like GH this possible delay would cause a big problem on the harder levels so they choose to use there own method. Of course you could say that this wouldn't really make much difference and its a way just to get more money out of us as a surely a BT one would have been easier and cheaper to make.

I was about to post the exact same thing.

Had a nightmare syncing the guitar and the PS3 but thats my fault for being typical male and throwing the instructions away.

Once setup the guitar is fantastic and hasn't dropped once.

I got it for the PS3 as my 360 is dead and I'm too impatient to wait

Not enjoying it so far but thats just due to the playlist and the issues with tv lag ruining the game

See you said your not enjoying it because or the playlist which is one reason why I don't like it. Just out of interest, do you think you will enjoy it or is that you GH3 experience done for?

Yeh same. I just want to complete Slayer on expert to put my mind at ease then I can go back to GH2.

Bought this saturday and i've had no probs with it. I think this game is absolutely fantastic, just managed to get the hang of it on medium, and it makes it so much better.

Tried expert and gave up after 10 secs, need to practicce a bit more yet. As for lag, i've onot noticed an yet. It was a concern I had when i bought it, but seems to be fine. Aparently they are working on a fix for it.
