I bought Ghost 12 recently to backup a mates 98 machine. He wanted it backed up, but the objective was primarily to upgrade his hard drive: 4 – 80GB
Anyway, so far I’ve been unable to get anything to work! So I was wondering if there are any Ghost experts here that could help me out?
I’ve been using the ‘Copy my hard drive’ feature – the drives have copied fine, but neither has been able to boot…
The 98 drive I copied came up straight away with an ‘invalid system disk’ error and then I tried to copy my Mum’s XP Pro drive – that booted, but only as far as the Windows screen (Dark blue boarders, top/bottom and light blue middle with Windows logo) the mouse moved, but apart form that the system was frozen. I left it for over 40 minutes…
So where am I going wrong? I thought this whole process was really easy – I’m glad I’m not dependant on these ‘backups’ in the event of a disaster, I backup all my important info manually
I was thinking of maybe trying an older version/s, my best friend has very kindly offered to let me borrow the two versions he use most frequently; v8 and 10.
I thought I’d ask here first any, after all I have just spent £40 on this software
