Ghost and USB drivers?

I want to upgrade the hard disk in my Fujitsu Pi1505 laptop.

No floppy drive, but I have used a ghost boot CD to make an image of the c drive , however, I couldn't image the drive onto an external hard disk connected by USB.

The boot options include USB, but I can't alter anything for some reason.

I have managed to make an image of the c drive onto the 2nd partition of the same hard disk.

How can I image to a USB device with Ghost or how can I move the contents of the 60GB SATA Laptop drive onto a 120 GB SATA Laptop drive?

Thanks in advance

do you have 3 drives there?

drive1 - current drive
drive2 - new drive to replace old one
drive3 - usb drive

use ghost to create an image of drive1 on drive3 (as a file, not a total disc copy)

then use the ghost disc to restore that image from drive3 to drive2

drive 1 = 60GB split 15-45 - currently in laptop
drive 2 = New 120GB drive bare
drive 3 = Drive H - USB attached drive.

Ghost32.exe managed to image the 2nd partition from the 60GB drive in windows, but couldn't touch the c: as it was locked (by windows I guess)

Used the ghost on CD to image the c: drive onto the 2nd partition, but I couldn't find the usb drive in the drop down list to image to. Options were drive a: and drive b: (nothing attached) and the CD drive with the ghost CD in.

Now I have images for both partitions on the usb disk, but no way to get them onto the new 120GB drive.

Does this make sense? am I missing something?

Thanks again

Nope doesn't see the usb disk

What am I doing wrong?? I tried to do a back up but the place to save did not include the USB hard disk.

How can I possibly do this?

Cheers
