Ghost BC

WARNING THREAD RESURRECTION

My bass player has been harking on about these for at least a year so a couple of weeks ago I gave them a try.
It wasn't what I expected and today I've listened to all 3 albums while sitting in the sun but I have listened to each album once through in the last 2 weeks.
It's like a mix of 60s pop with ABBA, ELP, Kansas, Metallica and everything thrown into the pot and mixed up.
The singer must have the softest voice I've ever heard on record but it works and some of the harmonies are to die for.

I think the stage act is a bit crap though.

Thoroughly enjoyed their live show at The Paladium back in March, I do find Papa Emeritus's comedy stylings most amusing though. :)

Friends of mine introduced me to Ghost before Download year before last (or possibly year before that), and I didn't get a chance to listen to them but really enjoyed their show. Had a good listen up before the Paladium gig and like you was impressed at the fusion of styles. Works so well, plus the multiple choral and instrumental layers make for a full and engaging listen.

I went to that too, it was awesome. They have so many great sing-along songs which is nice for a change from the usual (metal) concerts I've been to which are all about headbanging and aggression.

Pretty obsessed with this band since I started listening to them a few months ago. I can play Infestissumam on repeat and never get bored, every song is awesome. I already recorded vids of me playing Year Zero and Cirice on guitar, and next up is He Is then Monstrance Clock (I generally practice one song repeatedly for ages then record myself playing it as flawlessly as possible then move on).

Very smart bunch of guys, they know exactly what they are doing and are very open about their band and future plans which is in contrast to their "hidden" identities.
