how do i go about making a Ghost image of my OS, so i dont have to faff around with installing all my junk again?

Its not horrendously expensive when you consider how much time it is going to save you!
i suppose my local staples should stock it, or maybe even argos, cant find the book and interweb is doing my head in.
I've got ghost running so that i ghost my machine onto an external USB 200gb drive. And cos the ghost cd can boot and add usb2.0 support, it finds the drive no problem if i ever have to restore from it 
I have tried Acronis True Image 6 or 7 in the past, which worked well, but use ghost at work and more at home with it
