I installed this last night to give it a whirl... And wow! One match and I'm in love, what a brilliant free to play game!

I love it's tactile side, when the team work together it's really amazing.

Funny eh? Spent £60+ on BF4 and it's average, and then comes along a free to play, half decent graphically, tactile shooter and it's brilliant.

Any others play this?

i was just looking at that this very minute, is it the same as bf4 in that if your just beginning to play online shooters dont waste your time kinda game?? ive played about 10 online games of bf4 and not had a single kill

Played this in its early Alpha/Beta days and its quite poor tbh even though I not played the full release looking at youtube it would seem very little as changed.

Its all about learning the maps and game mode etc where and when to spawn in, be in the know where the fight is happening. If you want to get used to shooting people play Team death match or Rush.

Is this the free to play 3rd person Ghost Recon? If so I played fairly earlyish in the beta and thought it was great apart from a few issues.

  • The higher tier weapons were pretty much pay to win
  • Very limited map selection
  • Known exploits on the map and other such shenanigans were not patched quick enough

Yes, tactical sorry lol.

And no, it's not like BF4, the maps and team sizes are perfect, it's not rushed in any sense (at least the mode I was playing wasn't), you're also matched to people of the same skill level.

It's much slower than BF4, you sit behind cover and patiently wait for the opportune moment, if you start sprinting around the place and darting around trying to get quick kills. You die fast.

its TDM ive been trying to play but pretty much useless at it, worst part is was looking forward to playing titanfall but i guess that will be a similair sort of experiance

You join servers with enough players lol you should have no issue finding players on TDM that's for sure.
While TitanFall isn't for me I do own it and played abit. Even though its 5v5 the map balance is spot on and keeps the battle going at a very nice pace. If you played COD you will understand.

made a thread about this sunday after my mate told me about it on steam. thought id played it before had a year ago in a earlier beta or alpha .

its come on a bit since then but its pretty dire. no skill tactics. first game just ran down street murdered most people in game. then rest of round most just had snipers camping.

the over the shoulder dead space style camera angles don't help either.

so for free yep its what people with little money will play or just a quick blast of something.

will it develop into a better game or comp or anything no never.

stick to csgo,titanfall,bf4 .

That's a shame because despite it being 3rd person you could still play quite tactically in the beta. Team work was required to push through and cap points. Timing your team mates abilities was often vital. Really felt it had potential except ubisoft going full greed on their p2w model. Instead of just focusing on cosmetic items like Dota/TF2.

I play Ghost Recon and have done for over a year, it's fantastic IMO. Oh right, just launched, now it's 'Phantoms' I hope they kept some of the old maps.

It's not pay to win if you're any good either.

Well when I played you could buy bullets that do more damage etc and you would need to grind for 1000+ hours to get all the top tier weapons without paying :)

I played a little bit of Ghost Recon Online. For a free game I was rather impressed actually, but like most games I install or buy they sit collection virtual dust.

Going to bump this up!

Fantastic F2P game, team work is absolutely essential, the little things of not being able to shoot straight immediately after sprinting, requiring a team work to cover you as you advance, making full use of all cover, big or small, actually having to work with your team to push up otherwise you'll get taken out by guys in cover, use of tactical items to make a strong push forward.

For a free game it's great, would love a OCUK team on TS as you could dominate as long as you work as a team. Go solo and you'll struggle, unless your team suppresses from the right side & you and another ghost flank left, run out alone and you'll be taken down. Plus the maps have their strategic points, as you push up your snipers can get into a good position whilst your support can surpress from below.

Isn't the smoothest of games and reminds me of Gears of War movement, and the graphics lack slightly, but it's great fun & works really well as you actually need team mates!

Edit: Can be downloaded on steam and avoid uPlay.
Edit2: Still requires a uPlay account to login to the game.

Totally agree, the team play makes this, the few times I've played I've taken charge and splurted out typed commands to the team and when they comply, jesus it's good.

"Guys, move up to the right, bob1, cover me to the left as I advance"... It just makes the game SO much more fun.

I too would be up for a OCUK team.

Might look into checking this out if you are keen to get a team going, although I tend not to play shooters much anymore.

I really enjoyed Future soldier on the console if its anything like that?
