Ghostbusters 360

Our good "friends" at Sony have stepped in on this and pretty much killed the idea. Sony are the owners of the Ghostbusters IP after purchasing Columbia pictures in 1989.

Safe to assume its been well and truly SQUASHED and a 360 release is in my opinion a no go now.

A shame, as I was looking forward to using my Wii Remote as a plasma gun...

Imagine "crossing the beams" in multiplayer.. your remote would actually BLOW UP :D

I know there was some controversy as Sony own some rights to the Ghostbuster film i think, not sure whats happening now though.

EDIT* Beaten to it :(

Seen this ages ago and never really liked it. May have only been a prototype but wtf exactly are they holding? Looks more like a generic fps minigun rather than the nutrona wand from the movies. Then you have the ghosts apparently croaking it (again??) from a beam that only holds them in place untill they get trapped?

If they get the license to make a game id prefer it to be more accurate to the movies.

Fair enough, but would make for a tedious game. Catching them, then sticking them in the trap each time.

Maybe once or twice, but each time just so if complies with the movie?

Naaa..

It could easily be explained away. After 10 years of research they've developed a new raygun and it zaps smaller ghosts, but you need the trap for stronger spirits (so you can still get to use it just not so often)

Would let them get away with deviating from the movie slightly.

One of the devs from Zootfly was interviewed on the OXM Podcast. He said that the video was an attempt to get official interest in a Ghostbusters game. If not, they would go with their own IP which will look pretty much like that video, but not be offical characters or concepts, but their own creation.

Right now it's not looking good for offical support, so look forward to a Ghostbusters-but-not-really game sometime (hopefully) this year.
