Ghostbusters Reboot

That trailer looks decidedly average.

What I really dont understand is why its a reboot and not just a sequel. If they wanted a new female team of Ghostbusters, it would have been so easy to set it 30 years after the first two and have one of the original cast as a mentor type figure guiding the new team. They could have easily had the film focused around the new characters with the other original team members in smaller roles.

It would have come across far better with the fans, setup a new team for possible future films and wouldnt have seemed like they were trying to replace the original.

Unsurprisingly the trailer has more dislikes than likes, wonder if Sony will do what they did with the teaser and reset the likes\dislikes counter.

It makes no sense going the direction they did, the trailer references the original but its unknown if that's just the trailer referencing it or if its also something that occurred in that timeline\universe. I'm guessing this is entirely separate from the timeline of the originals as it looks like they have to design their own equipment instead of basing it off the original gear. The concept of GB3 for a while was for it to be a handover movie to a younger team with the originals in the movie, but when Harold Ramis died that all seemed to get ****canned pretty fast and they decided to go an all female route and seemingly ignore the first 2 movies altogether.

Its been said that Bill Murray was the holdout and in later interviews Aykroyd was saying that he had been written out but there was still a spot for him to occupy if he wanted to. But that was before Harold died which seemingly was the final nail in the coffin for GB3. Aykroyd is now saying that this all female movie could be a building block to make an actual GB3. Which makes no real sense as it was still a strong franchise without having to go the route of putting out a reboot of sorts.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear....

Not a fan of the humour portrait in the trailer at all, I was expecting or after something more intelligent, that is just slapstick.

Standard female cast slapstick summer blockbuster. I'll be avoiding it, only thing that looks common is the name and that it has ghosts.

This is so embarrassingly bad.
First they ,make it an all female cast, so what do they do, in stead of a strong female cast its all the usual stereotypical rubbish. And that scene with the stereotypical Black girl, dear lord.

This looks garbage from the trailer, the cast is way off, avoiding the whole sex reversal thing going on.

A third installment should have been made two decades ago. I'm sure this will be rebooted sooner than we think, what with today's rebootathons.

I was willing to give it a go at the cinema until I saw that trailer. Deary me it looks like a car crash and not even one I'd rubberneck at.

If they weren't prepared to do Ghostbusters right they should have left it alone and let us with a good memory.

Black woman gonna black...

Winston was a far more rounded character, but then the writing of the original had a level of class about it that this does not.

everything about that trailer was ****. **** acting, **** jokes, **** cgi, and they also clearly didn't watch the originals because winston isn't a scientist!

watched this again after thinking about it last night

1) the humour is off - its just generic slapstick jokes, rather than the witty sarcasm, they would build up the tension / suspense and then drop in a snarky joke at the right time, slapping someone after the ghost has gone - thats a home alone joke with the spider!
2) the ghosts were scary before, (the librarian and the dogs mainly) these just look kind of meh
3) its not very serious? the originals felt like they were up against the odds
4) i really hate the "guns" proton pack things - the packs themselves look good but why the daft gun thing uuugh
5) I dont mind the female cast, the look of it is ok too, but they have missed the mark I think with a lot of stuff
6) not in the firestation (in a chinese resturant?) :( thats almost sacrilege!
