I'm not sure if this is possible, but we're looking for a way to have a permanent ghostcast session running on one of our servers. This is so that we can go to any computer and just PXE boot them and they will connect to the already established session.

I've got everything else sorted, but currently the only way I achieve the ghostcast server part is to keep it open all the time. This will work for a while, until someone restarts the server and doest start the session back up. Is this something that GSS would be able to fix, or does that only work when the server is telling the client to ghost itself rather than the other way round ?

Couldn't you add Ghostcast into the startup section of the server so if anyone forgets to open it, it will open automatically.

Yes. I thought that was pretty clear from the first post
Sorry  Silly me!!

I have never used Ghostcast, but when you say sessions I presume you have to create one in the first place, so couldn't you create an auto session.

I have only ever really used Ghost over a network from laptop to laptop, it saves so much time!

I will have a search for you!

I cant think of a way to get it to keep the settings in the session... only way I can think of is logon to the server locally and start the session, lock the machine and remote onto it for anything else. :)

We use a cmd file in the StartUp folder to start our GhostCast sessions but you do need to logon to the server to get the cmd file to run.

I think we are going to have to logon to the server but will auto-run the session using the command line switches.

What a complete pain in the ass
