Upgraded to a larger hard drive, so wanted to ghost the working windows xp image, as is, to the new drive. Formatted the new drive in windows, and made it 'active'. Then used dos version of ghost (from boot cd), to do a straight partition copy from the old drive to the new one. Booted with the new drive, and it gets to the point where the windows logo appears (2nd time -against blue background), right before the desktop should appear, but stops there.
I have experienced this with another pc, and in that instance tried using acronis software, which gave the same result. This version of ghost is fine, as i've previously used it to backup and restore an XP image on my main pc. So i think i must be doing somethng wrong - any ideas?
