Ghosting going on

Not sure if this is in the correct section as it's a mixed bag really.

Anyway anytime I'm on the desktop and I open a window and then close it a small feint impression is left behind but if I refresh the page it vanishes, It only happens on grey backgrounds which I find odd.

Tried it on my 1080 IPS and also my Asus 4K, Same story.

Any help is appreciated.

I have seen that on my desktop even on various CRT, refresh removes it.

I assume its GPU/Driver/Windows related and a glitch not screen retention esp on modern CRT.

If its happening on more than one display it has to be the GPU..
Have you tried different drivers? happen on older sets also? Maybe even worth changing cables see if its the cable doing it.

Found out it's the custom theme I'm running, Went back to Windows 8.1 default theme with a grey background and it doesn't happen, Odd.
