Hi all,

I have 25 identical laptops to roll out tomorrow, each have vista pre-installed. My problem is I have to install 6 packages on them each and doing that on every laptop is going to take me a lonnnnnnnng time.

I know i could make a master ghost image of one of the laptops and throw that out to the other laptops but they will have the same Windows Key, right? So when it comes to activation it might go belly up.

Is there anyway of entering the correct key once all of the laptops have been ghosted?

Some way of doing it using sysprep?

Hopefully someone will be able to help me out.

Cheers :)

Leave the cdkey blank when you install it, press next and that will give you a list of all the versions to install. Then ghost that without the cdkey.

It's already installed though mate.

Every laptop is ready to just boot up and the HP software configures the rest of the stuff.

if you right click my computer properties and then scroll to the bottom it says "change product key" once you have done the ghosting can you not just change the product key back to the right one one the laptops?

or does this button not do what it sounds like it does?

If you are on a network you could create a batch file to open all install packages one after the other but I wouldn't know where to start after that!

Probably not much use...

Would this work if i was to ghost the laptops and deploy the image to all the other laptops then just simply change the vista product key?

Would the laptops then activate ok in 30 days time?

Try it on one and you will have the answer. :).

I will be interested to hear your findings.
