Situation....., 1 pc several meters way from HDTV. 1 x 7.5 meter belkin vga under carpet to HDTV from PC. Normal LCD monitor with normal ferrite ring vga lead also connected for normal pc use. Ghosting appeared on HDTV when 7.5 meter lead was used (no ferrite rings) from PC to TV.
Ok, so it looks like ferrite ringed vga lead is needed from pc to HDTV. Purchased a female to female dongle, popped in a decent vga lead in back of pc (with rings) and connected that upto long 7.5 meter vga lead to HDTV....result ghosting gone. Sorted.
Had to remove leads for some reason, and upon connecting the leads all back up, i had ghosting on HDTV... WTF !!!! Took ferrite ringed vga lead out from back of pc and directly connected the belkin no ferrite ringed vga lead to it. Result, ghosting has gone now on HDTV !!!

Currently its connected directly to the HDTV with the 7.5 meter vga lead (no ghosting at present however) It seemed when i first connected the 7.5 lead that it was a simple case of not having ferrite rings present in the lead that caused ghosting, and the only way to prevent ghosting was to incorporate a lead with rings. But now it appears it dont need one, and i just dont get it.
