Ghostwatch

I went over to a mates house after he said my dad recorded this great program. I was 10 at the time, I walked out of that house a changed person.
 
I could never understand the controversy over this at the time, it's so obviously fiction. I can only think it was due to the time it was broadcast in the evening. I guess it's lives in the same phenomena as the war of the world's radio broadcast or maybe the general public are just idiots.
 
I watched this at a mates house and looked at his clock at about 21:45 ('Ish) then when I looked back at it about half an hour later it had stopped at that precise time... I think they said something on that program about clocks/watches stopping. I crapped myself thinking OMG its real. Turns out I managed to look at the clock around 21:45 'ish and the clock hadnt worked in weeks. lol

We then decided to debunk the program by looking at the tv guide/radio times to see if they were in fact going to do through the night updates etc but non were listed. At that point re decided it was bull
 
Blimey this brings back memories, probably solely responsible for all the ghost hunter programs seen on daytime Freeview since!

I miss the OC member who would post decent spooky real life stories around this time of year; which were always a good read.

Don’t know where he’s got to. I can only assume he’s been dragged to hell by the demnons.

Edrof writes about the paranormal too. I miss his Friday fright posts :(

I think the controversy comes from the amount of children that were allowed to watch it thinking it was family viewing. I was one of them, aged about 8 or 9 I think. Was scared to death for months afterwards because it felt so real to me. The house was even similar to mine and I just had a horrible fear of the dark after that and cupboards.

I'd imagine a lot of parents complained.
Similarly to I.T, I bought both to relive my fears and was laughing throughout both as they are just now so comically bad.

I was 12 and I was scared of cupboards after it.

If Edrof is too busy I might pick up the mantle. He's a very good writer though whereas I'm not.
 
Imagine if they had the balls to broadcast a new, updated one of these. There would be hordes of SJW types all getting 'triggered' and running crying to their safe spaces to bash out complaints and whine on social media with hashtags.

It would be great. #BringBackPipes
