Wow thats a shock only 58 :(

He had loads of charisma

Remember him and zola at chelsea what a team that used to be

The ex-Italian international was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer five years ago, and had been given the all-clear in 2020, before eventually succumbing to the disease.

It always amazes me when someone who has been a top sportsman and super fit all their lives dies so young of natural causes. Rip

Very sad news. Coming from a wealthy family he played simply for the love of the game, and you could see that in his perpetual smile when on the pitch. Genuine footballing legend

RIP Luca.

Did him and Ravanelli leave Juventus for the PL at the same time?

I can't quite remember but I do rember that Juventus team was fantastic.

Agreed with all, very sad news.

Vialli was a great player, an icon of Italian football and Chelsea during the 90's. Having helped Italy at the Euro's recently, I was hoping he would make a return.

Funny story a lot know now, at the Euro's, Italy's first game Vialli missed the bus. They had to turn around and go and get him. Italy went on to win that game. After that, for all the games going forward, the bus purposely left without him :D

My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Didn't know that  Maybe with Rashford's recently sleeping in, Man U should take the same approach and let him have a lie in more often :p

I didn't realise he came from a rich family. I guess that explains why his English was impeccable.

Chelsea were a very good team at that point and he did well as his stint as a manager.

Really sad news to hear this, he was a great player and an important part in the changes at Chelsea that saw them become the team they are now. Although we've had a lot more success since then, that period was my favourite for watching them. Vialli, Zola, Hughes, Leboeuf, Desailly, Poyet, Di Matteo and all the others, it was an exciting (and quite often frustrating) time. RIP

It's not often that a player is well liked even by rival fans, but Vialli was one of those players. Just well liked by everyone.

RIP Luca. Cancer sucks :(
