When will we see a 17 inch laptop with a gtx980m available to buy and in stock here at Ocuk?

Hi,

I can neither confirm or deny this....

But as always, at MSI we will have the latest technology available at OCUK.

I guess we'll find out by the end of the week.

I'm more interested in 960/965/970m, but time is the big problem - dunno if 1 month or 4 months wait...

Noooo! i've only had my GTX 870m for a few months!

I wouldn't worry - not like the 870m is going to stop working the day the 970m comes out. ;)

And who knows whether it will be a few weeks before seing models in stock or several more months - time in which you can continue to enjoy your 870m.

Hi all,

Just to add to Curunen's comment, I think he is correct.

New GPU's are really down to Nvidia, so it's not something MSI control. But I think we can all agree that even if something new does come out, this does not make the current range any less desirable. In fact, some competitors are still selling the 770/780M and people are buying.

Santa will be packing his sleigh, but not delivering until nVidia supply the reindeer :-)

News will be released in line with the NDA.

So, we're looking at some serious horsepower then:

I know no one can comment on it for a couple of days at least, but I can't ignore that - p35v3 with 980m?! p34v3 with 970m?!
If the p35v3 can cope with a 980m then I assume a GS60/70 would do the same?!

Having held off so long, I'm in the uncomfortable position of wait and see (for frankly insane, or rather disgustingly good performance boost and resale value) or pull the trigger soon on what is physically available now... especially as the p34v2 CF5/6 have only been in stock what, a week, with supply dwindling?

If these are 4-6 months away, I wouldn't wait. If they're <1 month away, well... that's just too close, especially considering current models will inevitably be at a discounted price. Edit: Once the NDA has lifted it would be nice to know a solid timeframe regarding the above.
