Heard in a recent forum post that the agp HIS x1950pro cards use the 6pin pci-e power connectors on the cards for the additional power. Where as i was thinking that since sapphire used 2 molex design that HIS would too. As i dont think i have a pci-e cable on my akasa paxpower 400w. ATX 2.0 PSU.

So can i get confirmation on this if its 2 molex or not? Also if not and is a 6 pin lead needed does it come with a Y adapter so i can use 2 molex to 1 pci-e cable . If it doesnt can you provide one for free?

Btw any chance of 512mb HIS x1950pro agp cards being on this weeks specials for next week. Whats the chances of it? ;) ;)

here you go, looks like 6pin to me. don't laugh too much at the spaghetti junction in there, stupid nf7 has the power cable in such a dumb place.

Cheers dude.

Meh so need a y splitter 6->4 pin. and ocuk are out of them as well. :(

So currently its standing like this price wise, x1950pro AGP 512mb - £188 + £8 postage + £3 for a splitter = £199 ish. :( Could get the 256mb version but then i cant play 1600x res as good or games that have special ultra modes sorta.

my 512mb version is arriving tommorrow. Im in the same boat by the looks of things. Me thinks my weekend will involve visiting electronic stores on the lookout for these. Oh what fun!

Just had a look for a 4 to 6 pin cable adaptor at OCUK and the only I could find is this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-018-AK

Is this the correct one to buy?
Do you have to plug in two 4 pin Molex connectors from your PSU to get the required 6 pin power output?

By the way, they are out of stock with no ETA on these connectors :(

I noticed that on the HIS official web site, the faster core and memory speeds that are advertised have a "turbo" in brackets next to them; does that mean that these are not the default speeds but ones that achieved when overclocked in "turbo mode" or something?

I heard a rumor that this card is going to be on a "This week only" deal next week for £163 (including vat)...I hope this is true. ;)

that looks like the correct cable to me. the HIS card is already overclocked, mine was anyway :)

Rgr that dunker, thx.

I had the antec truepower 430 from a few years ago. This didnt have the 6 pin connector, so a conversion cable was needed. Take a look on the Antec website to confirm, or just take a peek in your case for a 2x3 connector. Ignore the 6x1 connector as thats not it!
