Can anyone recommend a good printing service

I have tried a couple and had issues with wrong size, incorrect colours and crushed blacks

I've always have good results from Loxley Colour.

It's important to make sure you prepare the file correctly before sending it to a printing service, ensuring the aspect ratio matches your print size and it's in sRGB format and not AdobeRBG or something else. If using Adobe software, check in Lightroom or Camera Raw for crushed blacks and highlights and adjust as required. It would also be good to try the soft proofing option using the profile for the type of paper you are choosing supplied by the printing service.

Even though you have calibrated your monitor, aim for a target luminance value of about 90-100 cd/m2 during the calibration process. If you are getting crushed blacks, then your monitor brightness may be too high. Even when printing at home, I need to add about .15 to 0.2 to the exposure when printing to get the results close to matching what is displayed on screen.
