I just hit 47 in rift, 3 levels from max, and i just thought to myself, whats the point ? 
Thinking i was enjoying it because i had a good guild and the class system is cool, but its quests are the most brutal ive ever seen in a mmo, wow, lotro, EQ2, nothing had quests this tedius/boring, i cant go any further and the only mmo that looks to change this is Guild Wars 2, SWTOR looks crap.

Yeh, I'm not a mega hardcore person, but I just want something that isn't as easy as **** and just milking the same tired old formula...

have you seen the GW2 videos/interviews? its going to be the next groundbreaking mmorpg no doubt about it.
I haven't watched all the gw2 videos , but from what I have read and seen I wouldn't call it "groundbreaking" , at least I haven't read of much yet which hasn't been done before. Looks decent enough though, but what I really want is either UO2 or Daoc2
The term WoW clone annoys me.
DAoC, my first MMO best part of a decade ago, was long before WoW and vastly superior. If they released DAoC 2 that was exactly the same but with update graphics I'd play it.
Rift, for me, is an excellent game that reminds me of DAoC with the PvE element.
You want somethign that's not a "WoW clone" play EVE Online. Played that for 5 years and it has more depth than the likes of WoW could ever dream of having.

Not really. It has elements of character development attached to a hack and slash button mash.
An RPG has you take on a role, where your actions should reflect your personality and it punishes you for stepping outside that. Baldurs Gate is a good example.

Definitely no R and barely any P, Diablo is a hack and slash game, its a fantastic game but only given the loose term of rpg because you have stats ...

Nah rift has been good fun, and the class system is great, although with every class being able to do nearly every role each none of the characters seem unique or special, none of them have any identity like an mmo should, plus the questing is imo even worse than TBC quests, so mind numbingly boring, the rifts stopped being fun after level 8 or 9, invasions are more of an annoyance than anything else, pvp is a joke but hey at least it tried to add something different just didnt do it very well. Im a few levels away from 50 and i'd quite like to see end game as my guild is great and full of friendly people
