Hi

I'm just in the middle of cancelling my tesco's contract, waiting for my iphone to be unlocked and my o2 contract end in march. I'm thinking of joining GiffGaff and have a few queries; thanks to anyone who can help.

1. how does it work? do I just pay for a goody bag and it will work? or do I have to top up, then use the amount to pay for a goody bag?

2. I seen on the website that you can queue up goody bags, is there a maximum number I can queue up? Say 3/6 months worth? as I'm very forgetful.

3. Is unlimited data; unlimited? I will be using an iphone and work in IT, I won't be tethering data but I'm a very heavy data user.

4. what happens when you run out of you free mobile to mobile mins or have to call a landline that charges?

5. Does free mins roll over?

6. Is giffgaff the cheapest way of having a mobile at the moment? I currently pay for 3 mobile contracts and have a work mobile too.

Thanks in advance.

1. just pay for a goody bag and it will work

2. Set it take each month Direct debit

3. unlimited data - never hit any limit

4. you can set it to take noney from your account automatically or just top up

5. no

6. i think so but not looked around in last few minths

1. buy a goodbay once a month. theres an option to make it recur automatically

2. (see 1)

3. i've got through about 4gb a month a few times, no issues. £15+ goodybags have unlimited internet. i don't know if theres a fair use policy, but i think they start capping if you go over something like 7gb

4. once you run out of free minutes, they are deducted from the goodybag. if theres no minutes left in goodbag, they deduct from your credit.

5. 'Does free mins roll over?' cant make sense of that

6. probably

With regards to the part about being cheapest, Three will cost a little more but have a far better 3G network, you just need to play around with the packages. However, as soon as you factor giffgaff payback, it becomes the far cheaper option. I've made £20 in the past few weeks alone. Three of course is 3G only aside from the few areas that they are supported by EE (2G with no data), but when it has signal it is fantastic; O2's 3G network is okay at best but they have a 2G network (with data) to fall back on.
