Gift card ideas.

I get regular gift cards and I was thinking of saving them up for a year and using them for a new tv. As I keep wanting a new tv. But when it gets there.. I never want to buy it because there's better things to spend money on at the time.

But there's Always a risk as its John Lewis that they'll go bust. Or that they won't even have the TV I want on sale next year.
And I'm not even sure you can use like 12 vouchers for one item.

Boring option is to use them for Tesco (however they are only in store). But not even sure I can spend that much in store as mostly do online.

The only other option is decathlon that I'll ever use. But again, if they don't have the things I want when I want them it seems a bit of a waste. (ie somewhere else is selling it for a better price.).

Those are my options. Unfortunately I can't just hold them in limbo (before committing to a retailer) as they expire too soon.

What would GD do?

I bought expensive boxer shorts that I wouldn't normally get with my last one. Don't think I've had enough in the last 20 years that even if they were for the same place I could have bought a TV.

Amazon Giftcards?

At least they're unlikely to go out of business, and they have a wide variety of products
This is unfortunately not an option.
Although I don't shop much there there's always something that you can buy.

I have £100 JL voucher and can’t think of anything to buy….the problem is either they don’t stock something I want, or it’s not enough to get free postage. Don’t want to waste part of the voucher on postage. I rarely shop there so would prefer to get something totals as close to £100 as possible.

1st world problem.

Unless they've changed, to my knowledge there never used to be a limit in store to how many vouchers you can use per item. But if there are a lot of individual vouchers of lowish value, then I'd suggest going when it's not busy. I still remember someone bringing in a load at the end of the day to buy something expensive (probably a TV) and for some reason the voucher numbers had to be keyed in manually - it took a while.

On a side note, if you really can't think of what to use them on, I believe you can use them at waitrose if that helps.

I buy tescos gift cards for my weekly shop, it gives me points for this scheme at work. Along with "goodboy" points.. I spend them on amazon gift cards.

I've managed to get 130 pounds from buying tescos gift cards alone this year, there's always something that I need from amazon from the odd cable, book, washing bowl.. etc.. lol

you could use them on tescos gift cards to cheapen your shopping bill.

Every year since we sold 3rd party gift cards. Get customers coming in with third party gift cards which were purchased either at my work or another store wanting a refund as ‘don’t shop there’.

Gift cards are non refundable but there are websites/apps which will sell you the gift cards - with some commission taken.
