Gifting Ebooks from Amazon

Trying to do this on my normal account but it seems you can't do this in the UK?

Is the only way to do it to create an account on amazon.com?

Will it allow gifting from .com to .co.UK accounts though? Any reason you can't just give them a gift voucher instead?

After all that .com doesn't have the books he wants, I think I'll tell him he'll need to buy them himself.

It was more the thought that he would be able to get the books on Christmas Day, but I'll make do with a gift voucher and he can sort it out for himself.

There is no reason why he won't be able to with a gift voucher either.
