Hi All

Just a quick question though I am not sure of the answer I have a Synology NAS 107+ and I would like to stream video and audio from the NAS to 2 PC I have in my house. Now both of the PC have GigaBit network ports on the rear.

My main pc is using Asus P5N32-E SLI motherboard it has 2 Gigabit ports on the rear, my Netgear 834N router is connected to one and the other is empty.

I also have a media centre PC that I would like to stream data from the synology with a D-Link Network card fitted also Gigabit

The Synology 107+ has a Gigabit port on the rear

At the moment both of my PC and the Synology 107+ are connected to the router using network cables

Now the router is a bottle neck

Could I buy a Gigabit swith and connect this to the Netgear Router then connect my Synology 107+ and my 2 PC to the switch,

Would the Synology download station still work with the download station turned on, pc still connect to the internet ect..

I have just read the above at it looks confusing I hope you can understand what I'm trying to do
I am looking at buying

Quick answer - Yes.

Connect everything gigabit to your switch, then run 1 cable from your switch to your router (100mb) and everything should transfer through the switch unless it is gateway traffic :)
