I'm currently on the Virgin M350 package and was looking at their website regarding 1Gig.
Then noticed that the supplied router (Hub 4) is supplied with 4 gigabit ethernet ports.
Which got me thinking - theoretically, yes the port has a 1gig limit, but in the real world wouldn't in cap at between 900-960 Mbps?
...which then creates more questions;
So you're losing around 200 Mbps that you're paying for, purely because of the gigabit ports?!
(I understand that people should be happy with such a fast connection, but that's not the point!)

Virgin Media Hub 4
The Virgin Media Hub 4 normally comes with its Gig1 broadband package. Gig1 is its superbly fast 1Gbps service. A significant improvement on the Hub 3...<snip>
- Four gigabit ethernet ports – The Smart Hub has four gigabit ethernet ports, so you can use a wired connection for up to four devices

...which then creates more questions;
- It's hardly future proofing the router for increased speeds and seems short-sighted;
- Marketing blurb has it showing an estimated speed of 1120-1140 Mbps.
