BE 16MB ADSL Broadband - Thomson router

Dell pc on 10/100 Ethernet

+Remotely accessible NAS(on the same network)

am i right in thinking that to get wired gigabit network all we need to do is

CAT 5-e/6 cables
upgrade network cards on PC's

and we'll be fine? or am i missing something? do we actually need to upgrade the router too?

what is the speed of the router?

10/100 by the looks of it! so i guess that needs upgrading too because it will be used as a switch.

so network - router - NAS/3PC's.

if thats the case we need to upgrade it too.. does BE run a firmware on their router? or is it as simple as buying a gigabit router and setting it up?

If you have the TG582n it doesn't have gigabit ports, so you'll need a gigabit switch too, which you can then plug into the Be router.

yup, so 12 port netgear switch

net - router - switch - 3pcs+nas and boom we're good! :)

cool! thanks guys.
